President Biden Nominates Indian American Nisha Desai As Deputy Chief Of US Finance Agency

Washington: US President Joe Biden is set to add another Indian-American for the top job in his administration with the nomination of Nisha Desai Biswal, set to serve as deputy chief executive officer of the United States International Development Finance Commission.

Earlier during the Obama administration, Nisha Desai Biswal served as Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia.

According to reports, she has over 30 years of experience in working on US Foreign Policy, international developmental programs within the Executive branch and the private sector.

Nisha is currently working as the Senior Vice President for International Strategy and Global Initiatives at the US Chamber of Commerce, reportedly overseeing US India Business Council and the US Bangladesh Business Council.

Earlier she also served as Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs at the US Department of State from 2013 to 2017, overseeing the US-India strategic partnership including the launch of annual US-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue.
