PM Modi lauded the success and claimed that “Northeast is now not far from Delhi and from ‘dil’ (heart)”.
According to Election Commission of India data, BJP won 32 seats with a vote share of around 39%. Tripra Motha Party (TMP) came second by winning 13 seats. It is leading in Nagaland with its partner Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party. In Meghalaya, the party was reached out by the National People’s Party.
PM Modi talked about the fact that he completed more than 50 visits to the Northeastern states and termed it as an important milestone.
Talking about the mantra of consistent wins, PM Modi said that “Many political analysts are trying to understand the reason for the victory of the BJP. Some of our well-wishers want to know the reason. The reason is Triveni.”
Triveni according to PM Modi and the Party is “first power is the work of the BJP govts, the second one is the work style of the BJP and the last one is the karyakartas of the BJP.”
Lashing out at the Congress, the Prime Minister said “Today’s results have exposed Congress’s thinking about the northeast. Congress claimed that these are small states and insignificant. It’s an insult to the mandate and the people of the northeast states.”
