The 58-year-old actor, known for his charisma and box office dominance, has now solidified his position among India’s wealthiest individuals.
Khan’s entry into the prestigious list is fueled by the massive earnings from his blockbuster films and his strategic investments in the entertainment and sports industries. His production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has been a significant contributor to his wealth, producing several high-grossing films.
However, it is his stake in the Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), that has been a game-changer. The team, which clinched the IPL title in 2024, has seen its value soar, adding substantially to Khan’s financial portfolio.
The superstar’s return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus was marked by the phenomenal success of “Pathaan,” which grossed over Rs 1,055 crore globally. This was followed by “Jawan,” another blockbuster that outperformed its predecessor with a worldwide gross over Rs 1,160 crore. Juhi Chawla, co-owner of KKR, follows closely behind Khan on the list, with an estimated net worth of Rs 4,600 crore. Hrithik Roshan, another Bollywood heavyweight, has also made his mark, with a net worth of Rs 2,000 crore, bolstered by his successful athleisure brand HRX.
The 2024 Hurun India Rich List reveals a surge in the number of Indian billionaires, with 1,539 individuals now boasting a net worth of over Rs 1,000 crore—a significant increase from the previous year.
