New Delhi: As the sixth phase of voting in the Lok Sabha Elections concluded on May 25, the nation prepares for the seventh and final phase of polling. In this last phase, 57 parliamentary constituencies across eight states and union territories will head to the polls on Saturday, June 1.
States and Constituencies Going to Polls:
In this phase, Chandigarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab will be up for polls. A total of 904 candidates are set to contest in the seventh phase.
Chandigarh: Chandigarh
Jharkhand: Godda, Dumka, Rajmahal
Himachal Pradesh: Kangra, Mandi, Hamirpur, Shimla
Odisha: Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur
Bihar: Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Arrah, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat, Jahanabad
West Bengal: Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jaynagar, Mathurapur, Diamond Harbour, Jadavpur, Kolkata Dakshin, Kolkata Uttar
Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Bansgaon, Ghosi, Ghazipur, Ballia, Salempur, Chandauli, Mirzapur, Robertsganj

Several high-profile candidates are set to contest across key constituencies in the final phase of the elections. In Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (BJP) is running in Varanasi, while Ravi Kishan (BJP) is contesting in Gorakhpur, and Anupriya Patel (ADS) is contesting in Mirzapur. Bihar’s key candidates include Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP) in Patna Sahib and a crucial battle in Pataliputra between Misa Bharti (RJD) and Ram Kripal Yadav (BJP).
Himachal Pradesh features key candidates such as Kangana Ranaut (BJP) in Mandi and Anurag Thakur (BJP) in Hamirpur. In Punjab, Taranjit Singh Sandhu (BJP) is contesting in Amritsar, and Harsimrat Kaur Badal (SAD) is in the fray in Bathinda. West Bengal sees Abhishek Banerjee (TMC) running in Diamond Harbour, while Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar (TMC) competes in Barasat. In Jharkhand, Sita Soren (BJP) is a candidate in Dumka, and Nishikant Dubey (BJP) is contesting in Godda. Finally, Chandigarh will witness a contest between Manish Tewari (Congress) and Sanjay Tandon (BJP).
The election began with the first phase on April 19, which included 102 constituencies from 21 states. The second phase, held on April 26, covered 89 constituencies in 13 states. The third phase took place on May 7, involving 94 constituencies across 12 states. Following that, the fourth phase on May 13 saw voting in 96 constituencies across 10 states, while the fifth phase on May 20 spanned 49 constituencies in 8 states. Lastly, the sixth phase occurred on May 25, covering 57 constituencies in 7 states.
The first phase saw 66.14% of voters participating across 102 constituencies. The second phase saw a turnout of 66.71% in 88 constituencies. In the third phase, the turnout was 65.68% across 94 constituencies, and the fourth phase recorded a 69.16% turnout in 96 constituencies. The fifth phase saw a turnout of 62.2% in 49 constituencies, while the sixth phase recorded a 63.37% turnout across 57 constituencies. Results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are set to be declared on June 4th.
