As per the official announcement, applicants will now be required to apply for all types of visas through the designated website https://www.thaievisa.go.th. The system allows applications to be submitted either directly by individuals or through their representatives. However, the Embassy and Consulate-Generals clarified that they will not be responsible for any incomplete submissions.
Key Features of the e-Visa System:
- Implementation Date: The e-Visa system will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
- Application Process: Non-Thai nationals can apply online for all visa categories.
- Offline Payment Options: Visa fees will be paid offline. Applicants must follow the payment instructions provided by the respective Thai Embassy or Consulate-General. It is important to note that all visa fees are non-refundable.
- Processing Time: Applications are expected to be processed within 14 working days after payment confirmation.
To ensure a smooth transition, the Royal Thai Embassy has set deadlines for visa applications under the existing system:
- Ordinary Passports: Applications will be accepted until December 16, 2024 through the designated visa processing companies.
- Diplomatic and Official Passports: Applications can be submitted at the Embassy or Consulate-General until December 24, 2024.
The Embassy also reiterated that the 60-day visa exemption for Indian passport holders traveling for tourism or short business purposes remains valid until further notice.
