Tech billionaire Elon Musk issued a public apology on Wednesday for his recent social media outbursts targeting U.S. President Donald Trump, following a fiery online feud that escalated over the past week.
Taking to his platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote: “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.” The statement marked a rare admission of fault from the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, who is known for his provocative and often unfiltered presence online.

The tension between the two high-profile figures flared after Musk stepped down from a government advisory role and lashed out at the Republican Party’s proposed tax bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination.” He went as far as urging political action against GOP lawmakers who supported the legislation, signaling a dramatic shift in tone from his earlier engagement with the Republican establishment.
Trump, fired back in a public warning. “He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” Trump said, referring to Musk’s reported interest in funding primary challengers to unseat sitting Republican lawmakers. Trump made it clear there would be no reconciliation with the tech mogul.
The online clash reached a boiling point when Musk made a sensational and unsubstantiated claim that Trump was somehow connected to the Jeffrey Epstein scandal — implying that the president’s name was on the elusive “Epstein list” and that this may be why related government files have yet to be released.
In the now-deleted post, Musk wrote: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” However, he provided no evidence to support the assertion and did not clarify which specific documents he was referring to.
