Trump Demands Iran Abandon Nuclear Ambitions Ahead Of Final Deal Decision

Date:

In a potentially pivotal moment for West Asia, US President Donald Trump on Friday announced that he will convene an emergency meeting in the White House Situation Room to take a final decision on a proposed multi-part peace agreement with Iran aimed at ending months of heightened regional tensions.

In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump laid out what he described as the non-negotiable conditions for a comprehensive settlement between Washington and Tehran, including Iran permanently abandoning its nuclear weapons ambitions and reopening the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz to unrestricted global shipping

“Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb,” Trump wrote.

He further demanded the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz without tolls or restrictions, stating that all remaining naval mines in the region must be removed or detonated.

“The Hormuz Strait must be immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic, in both directions,” Trump said, adding that the United States had already destroyed several mines through naval operations and expected Iran to complete the remaining clearance efforts.

The announcement comes amid continued geopolitical uncertainty in the Gulf region and follows months of military escalation, maritime disruption and diplomatic negotiations involving several regional and global powers.

Trump also signalled a possible end to the maritime blockade imposed by the United States Navy, saying commercial vessels trapped due to the standoff would now be allowed to leave the area.

“Ships caught in the Strait due to our amazing and unprecedented Naval Blockade, which will now be lifted, may start the process of heading home,” Trump posted.

One of the most sensitive aspects of the proposed framework concerns Iran’s highly enriched uranium stockpiles, which Trump claimed remain buried deep underground beneath collapsed mountainous terrain following a US B-2 bomber strike conducted nearly a year ago.

Referring to the material as “Nuclear Dust,” Trump said the United States, alongside China and in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), would oversee the excavation and destruction of the material.

“The enriched material, sometimes referred to as ‘Nuclear Dust,’ which is buried deep underground with virtually collapsed mountains caused by our powerful B2 Bomber attack 11 months ago, will be unearthed by the United States… and destroyed,” he stated.

According to Trump, the extraction and disposal operation would involve highly specialised technical coordination between the involved parties, reflecting the complexity of handling the buried nuclear material safely.

The US President also clarified that no financial concessions or transfer of frozen assets would take place immediately under the proposed arrangement.

“No money will be exchanged until further notice. Other items, of far less importance, have been agreed to,” Trump said.

The proposed deal is currently being evaluated by top US military and intelligence officials as part of the Situation Room discussions. The developments mark one of the strongest indications yet that Washington and Tehran could be approaching a major diplomatic breakthrough, even as tensions continue to simmer across the wider Middle East.

Iran has not yet officially confirmed the details outlined by Trump, and it remains unclear whether Tehran will accept the conditions publicly laid out by the US President.
