Washington: Reports of growing frustration within the US administration over missile stockpile concerns during the Iran conflict have triggered speculation about disagreements between President Donald Trump and Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, though the White House has dismissed the claims as “fake news.”
According to reports, concerns over the depletion of missile supplies during the war have led to internal discussions about the US military’s preparedness and operational challenges. The alleged disagreement between Trump and Hegseth comes amid broader scrutiny of Washington’s strategy and resource management during the conflict.
The White House, however, rejected the reports and criticised the claims, saying they were inaccurate and did not reflect the situation inside the administration.
The issue has emerged as the US continues to assess its military capabilities and weapons availability amid heightened tensions linked to Iran. Officials have not publicly confirmed any disagreement between Trump and Hegseth over missile stockpiles or defence planning.
The reports add to ongoing debates in Washington over the impact of prolonged military engagements on US defence resources, including the availability of key weapons systems and the challenges of maintaining readiness during major conflicts.
