US President Donald Trump on Saturday said military strikes against Iran could resume if Tehran “misbehave” or takes actions he considers harmful.
Speaking to reporters while boarding Air Force One in South Florida, Trump said renewed military action remains “a possibility” and indicated Washington is closely watching Iran’s next moves. He also said Iran wants to make a deal but described the country as weakened and facing leadership uncertainty.
Trump further stated that he would like to eliminate the remaining parts of Iran’s missile-production capabilities to prevent future rebuilding.
At the same time, Trump said he is reviewing Iran’s newly submitted proposal but expressed strong doubt over whether it would be acceptable. In a Truth Social post, Trump said Iran has not “paid a big enough price” for what it has done over the past 47 years.
When asked about the reported 14-point proposal from Tehran, Trump said he had not yet seen the full document but had been informed about its general concept.
According to Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s proposal aims at “ending the war” on all fronts, including Lebanon, while rejecting a lengthy interim ceasefire and calling for a permanent resolution within 30 days.
