Washington, D.C: US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, stating that the United States is preparing for a significant military strike as tensions in the region continue to escalate.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran’s military strength had been substantially reduced and suggested that further action by the United States was imminent.
“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote.
He also indicated that the US intends to take control of key Iranian energy facilities in the future, including Kharg Island.
“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America,” he added.
Despite the sharp rhetoric, Trump said communication between Washington and Tehran remains ongoing as both sides continue efforts toward a preliminary agreement.
