US President Donald Trump has written to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, thanking him after Bangladesh agreed to purchase additional Boeing aircraft from the United States.
The Prime Minister’s Press Wing confirmed on Tuesday that Tarique Rahman had received the letter from Trump. The message was sent on Monday on White House letterhead and focused on Bangladesh’s decision to buy Boeing aircraft.
According to the sources quoted by reports, Trump expressed his appreciation to the prime minister for giving attention to the Boeing purchase. He also assured Bangladesh that the aircraft manufacturer would not disappoint the country.
In the letter, Trump wrote, “I will not forget your attention to this matter (the Boeing purchase).”
The US president also expressed his desire to meet Tarique Rahman in the near future. Trump said he hoped to meet the Bangladeshi prime minister soon, indicating an upcoming meeting between the two leaders.
The letter comes after Bangladesh’s decision to increase its purchase of Boeing aircraft from the United States. The Press Wing shared details of the communication and confirmed that Tarique Rahman had received Trump’s message.
