Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the White House announced on Thursday that President Donald Trump will decide in the coming two weeks whether to launch a military strike against Iran. The development follows days of heightened conflict between Israel and Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, addressing reporters, quoted the President as saying, “Based on the fact that there is a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision, whether or not to go, within the next two weeks.”

President Trump had earlier offered a cryptic response when asked whether he had already made a decision on military action: “I may do it, I may not do it,” he said.
The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its seventh day. The conflict between the two nations started after Israel, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, dubbed “Operation Rising Lion”.
In response, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation, ‘Operation True Promise 3’, targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres.
