Washington, D.C: US President Donald Trump has warned of a strong military response after Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles targeting American forces in the Middle East. The attack took place overnight, with reports saying the intended target was a US military base in Jordan.
Speaking during a phone interview with a News Agency, Trump said, “We’re going to beat the f*ing s*t of them. We’ll be hitting them hard. They’re going to get a beating.”
According to US Central Command, the missiles were launched by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in what it described as an attempted surprise attack. The US military said all incoming missiles were successfully intercepted before reaching their target.
Trump said he watched footage of the interception and praised US troops for stopping the missiles before any impact.
The interview also covered overnight US and Saudi strikes on Iran-backed Iraqi Shia militias. Trump said the operation was coordinated with the Iraqi government and described the militias as “a cancer on the world.”
