Washington DC: US President Donald Trump said American forces destroyed seven Iranian “small boats” in the Strait of Hormuz, amid rising tensions in the region.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump also alleged that Iran had fired at vessels from “unrelated nations.”

He warned that any attack on US vessels escorting ships through the waterway would trigger a strong response, saying Iran would face severe consequences. Trump added that, apart from a South Korean vessel, no major damage to ships transiting the strait had been reported.
Separately, three Indian nationals were injured in incidents reported in Fujairah. Authorities said they are coordinating with local officials to ensure medical care and support.
