New Delhi: India and Russia will begin consultations on a bilateral agreement in June to ease travel as per a statement from Russian minister Nikita Kondratyev on Friday, adding that Visa-free group tourism exchanges were to be introduced as a way for Moscow and New Delhi to deepen their tourism-related relationship.
“India is at the final stage of internal state coordination,” Nikita Kondratyev, director of the Russian Economic Development Ministry’s Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects, as quoted by RT News.
Within the framework of the international economic forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2024” in Kazan, the minister declared that a draft agreement would be debated for the first time in June and that a signature would probably take place by the end of the year.
The minister said “Russia and India are set to strengthen their tourism ties as they gear up for the launch of visa-free group tourist exchanges. The first round of consultations between the two nations is scheduled for June, with an aim to finalise a bilateral agreement by the end of the year”.
According to Kondratyev, Russia intends to duplicate the triumph of the August 1st, 2017 visa-free travel exchange. A new phase in Russia and Iran’s tourism-related cooperation began on the same day with the introduction of a visa-free group travel exchange.
