US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying military action remains possible despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations between the two countries.
Speaking to reporters, Trump said, “I hope we don’t have to do the war, but we may have to give them another big hit… I’m not sure yet. You’ll know very soon.”

He added that Iran was being given only “a limited period of time” to agree to a deal, stressing that the United States could not allow Tehran to obtain nuclear weapons.
“There’s no question in my mind that they’d use it, there’s no question-and I deal with these people. They’re extremely radicalised,” Trump said.
The remarks come even as a fragile ceasefire has remained in effect since April 8 following months of conflict triggered by US strikes on Iran that began on February 28.
Earlier, Trump claimed Gulf leaders had requested Washington delay a planned military operation while negotiations continued. However, he also said US forces were prepared for immediate action if talks failed.
Iran reacted strongly, with Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi criticising Trump’s remarks on social media.
