Five people were injured and a 16-year-old boy died after a tractor ran over them which they had hired for Ganesh visarjan in Nand Nagri, East Delhi. The incident took place on Sunday afternoon.
The incident was confirmed by the eyewitnesses and apparently, the reason for this accident was that the tractor driver started dancing at the wheel. The police have arrested the driver, however, it is yet to be confirmed whether the driver was dancing as well.
Karan who was a resident of Nand Nagri was identified dead. He was with 20 other family members in the tractor going for the idol immersion.
They were off the tractor dancing on the road when the tractor ran over them and crushed them. Karan’s sister Neha has a narrow escape from the accident.
Two men and four women were injured in the accident and immediately taken to GTB Hospital. Karan could not survive the injuries, but the remaining will hopefully be out of danger.
The driver ran from the location where the accident took place but was later found and arrested. He has been booked for killing and hurting people due to his rash driving.
