Ajay Devgn is all set to return to the big screen as the beloved Sardaar in the much-awaited sequel Son of Sardaar 2. The actor officially announced the release date of the film on Tuesday, calling it “The Return of the Sardaar” in a striking new poster shared on his Instagram handle.
The poster features Devgn in a signature turban-clad look, exuding swagger as he stands atop two tankers — a visual that hints at the film’s larger-than-life action and humor.
“The Return of the Sardaar. #SOS2 in cinemas near you on 25th July,” Devgn captioned the post, sending fans of the original into a frenzy. However, the makers have kept further details of the cast and storyline under wraps for now.

The first film, Son of Sardaar, released in 2012, was directed by Ashwani Dhir and starred Devgn alongside Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, and Juhi Chawla. It followed the story of Jassi, a fun-loving man who returns to his ancestral village in Punjab only to get caught in a long-standing family feud. Known for its blend of action, comedy, and romance, the film received mixed reviews but earned praise for its high-energy performances and catchy soundtrack.
Son of Sardaar 2 is expected to carry forward the same masala entertainer vibe that made the original a hit among mass audiences.
Ajay Devgn was last seen in Raid 2, which hit theatres on May 1 this year. He starred alongside Riteish Deshmukh in the investigative drama that added another feather to his diverse filmography.
