The recent Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Australia gave Indians an opportunity to get a work and holiday visa to Australia.
What does the new rule say?
According to a report by SBS AU, the Work and Holiday visa for Indians would permit 1000 travellers from India to work and travel in Australia for a year.
They will be eligible for a Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462) with a validity of 12 months. During this time, Indian travellers can leave and re-enter the country as many times as they please.
As per rules, the visa allows them to do any type of work in Australia. But they can only work for the same employer for 6 months.
Students willing to study in Australia can also apply for this visa which will allow them to study for 4 months.
The new rule will be implemented for Indians within a span of two years. The idea behind this initiative is to push the economic and cultural exchange between the two counties.
