Team India coach Gautam Gambhir and family will likely fly back home from Australia for ‘personal reasons’. As per a report in the Indian Express, the former India opening batter is expected to rejoin the team before the second Test begins in Adelaide on December 6.Â
He will probably miss the two-day pink-ball warm-up game in Canberra starting on November 30.
According to reports, Gambhir sought BCCI permission for his return. “He left for India with his family early Tuesday morning. It is an unavoidable personal emergency. He will be back in Adelaide before the start of the second Test match,” a BCCI official told PTI.
After winning the first game of the five-match series by 295 runs in Perth, the visitors will now travel to Canberra on Wednesday to play a two-day pink-ball tour game.
