Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ is gearing up for a grand release this Friday, on the occasion of Independence Day. However, the day will also witness the release of other significant Hindi films. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’ are also set to hit the screens on August 15. But it looks like Stree 2 will outshine them all.
According to the reports, Stree 2 has already earned ₹11.37 crore gross in advance bookings across India for its opening day and has sold 381,878 tickets for the film’s first day so far. On the other hand, Khel Khel Mein has sold 15,001 tickets and garnered ₹55.33 lakh gross in advance sales and Vedaa has generated ₹56.57 lakh gross with 23,335 tickets sold for its opening day.
Stree 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2018 hit horror-comedy Stree, featuring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, and Pankaj Tripathi. On the other hand, Vedaa stars John Abraham and Sharvari. Akshay Kumar is returning to theaters with Khel Khel Mein with Taapsee and other actors.
Additionally, Tamil actor Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’, directed by Pa Ranjith, and Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Double iSmart’, starring Telugu actor Ram Pothineni alongside Sanjay Dutt, are also set to release on Independence Day 2024. The political drama ‘Raghu Thatha’, featuring Keerthy Suresh, and Mr Bachchan, starring Ravi Teja, will hit theaters on August 15 as well.
