Fans are excited after the announcement that Coldplay will perform in Mumbai on January 18 and 19, 2025, at the iconic DY Patil Stadium. This will be Coldplay’s first full-length concert in Mumbai, following their brief yet memorable 2016 performance at the Global Citizen Festival. The band, led by Chris Martin, captivated audiences then with a brief setlist that included a collaboration with Indian legend AR Rahman. This time, they’re set to deliver a full-fledged show, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.

The tickets for the much-awaited concert will go live on September 22 at 12 pm IST, via BookMyShow. Coldplay will also release a limited number of Infinity Tickets on November 22, 2024. These affordable tickets, priced at around €20 (₹2000), are part of the band’s effort to make their concerts accessible to a broader audience. Each buyer can purchase a maximum of two Infinity Tickets, which must be bought in pairs, with seat locations revealed only on the day of the show.

Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour has been a global phenomenon since it kick started in 2022, with performances across Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, and Australia. The tour is based on their 2021 album, Music of the Spheres, a cosmic-themed record that featured collaborations with global artists like BTS for their hit single “My Universe.”

Fans in India have been waiting with baited breath for the band’s return, and this upcoming concert promises to be one of the biggest musical events of 2025. With Coldplay’s signature blend of soft rock and heart-touching lyrics, fans can expect classics like “Yellow,” “Fix You,” and “Viva La Vida,” along with newer tracks.

The announcement sparked a wave of excitement on social media, with major brands joining in to celebrate Coldplay’s return. Durex India stole the spotlight with their witty comment: “The only time we’ll say ‘come soon,’” while Starbucks India excitedly exclaimed, “Spilled our coffee in pure excitement cause we were literally waiting for ‘Something just like this!’”

Spotify India also jumped on the bandwagon with their playful post, “Did we fall asleep and wake up in para, para, paradise?” referencing one of Coldplay’s iconic songs. Even Rapido showed off their creativity, writing, “I rode a bike for you. Oh, what a thing to do. And it was all yellow,” in a twist on Coldplay’s famous lyrics.

For Coldplay fans, the wait is nearly over as the band is coming to India in January 2025.
