Meta is transforming its Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses into a versatile AI companion, combining entertainment, language accessibility, and financial technology. The company has added a host of new features, including hands-free Hindi language support, festive photo enhancements, and UPI Lite payments, along with the celebrity AI voice of Deepika Padukone, the first Indian actress to lend her voice to Meta AI.
Bollywood Joins AI
Deepika Padukone now joins a global list of celebrity voices, including Hollywood stars like Judi Dench and Awkwafina. Users can interact with Meta AI through their glasses or the Meta AI app, receiving spoken responses to questions, explanations, or even jokes.

Meta has introduced full Hindi language functionality, enabling users to perform tasks entirely by voice. Through the Meta AI app, users can select Hindi under Device Settings > Meta AI > Language and Voice. Once activated, the glasses can take photos, record videos, control media, answer calls and messages, and provide information — all hands-free. The technology behind this update is powered by Sarvam, a leading Indian AI foundation model company.
With Diwali approaching, Meta has rolled out a Diwali Restyle feature. Users can decorate photos with fireworks, rangoli patterns, and other festive effects, all without touching their devices.
Meta is also testing UPI Lite payments directly through the glasses. Users will soon be able to scan QR codes and make transactions under ₹1,000 by simply saying, “Hey Meta, scan and pay.” Payments will link to WhatsApp-linked bank accounts, allowing for fast, hands-free financial transactions, eliminating the need for wallets or smartphones.
