An orthopaedic doctor was left injured on Sunday morning after gunmen shot at him outside his farmhouse in South Delhi, the police said.
An ongoing property dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the attack, added the police. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) Romil Baaniya said the police control room received a call at 1.05 a.m. on Sunday about the incident.
The victim, Hans Nagar, said he had suffered gunshot injuries during an attack by three or four people at his farmhouse in Gadaipur in Mehrauli, the DCP said.
The victim added that he fired back 12 or 13 rounds from his licensed pistol, injuring one or two of the attackers, the DCP added.
“He is under treatment, and is reported to be conscious and stable,” Mr. Baaniya said, adding that the victim suspected his brothers, John Nagar and Ron Nagar, to be behind the attack as they have been locked in a dispute over a property in Gurugram for years.
