Date:

As the IPL 2025 final unfolds under the floodlights of the Narendra Modi Stadium, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have found a high-profile supporter in the stands, none other than former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Sunak, accompanied by his wife Akshata Murty, was spotted cheering enthusiastically for RCB as they battle it out against Punjab Kings for their elusive maiden IPL title. Taking to social media platform X, Sunak posted a photo from the stadium with Akshata, captioned, “Let’s go @RCBTweets”, signaling his full-throated support for the Bengaluru franchise.

Earlier, Sunak expressed his allegiance to the team, saying, “I’m married into a Bangalore family, so RCB is my team.” He also fondly recalled proposing to Akshata in Kannada, despite not fully mastering the language.

RCB, long known for their massive fanbase and loyal following, now have a former world leader among their most vocal supporters. As the match continues to grip fans across the globe, Sunak’s presence in the stands adds a unique international dimension to the night’s drama.
