New Delhi: Thousands of Facebook users reported problems accessing the platform on Sunday after the Meta-owned social media site experienced a widespread outage.
Users attempting to access Facebook on desktop were shown the message: “Account Temporarily Unavailable. Your account is currently unavailable due to a site issue. We expect this to be resolved shortly. Please try again in a few minutes.”
Most complaints came from users across the UK, with reports concentrated in cities including London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Hull, India and Brighton.
Several users also shared their frustration on social media. One user wrote, “I’m getting this error message on Facebook in both Safari and Chrome on my laptop. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?” Another posted, “Facebook is down. At least in the UK.”
