Five Qatar-Based Indian Nationals Killed In Road Accident During Kenya Visit

Date:

At least five Indian nationals residing in Qatar lost their lives in a tragic road accident while visiting Kenya, according to official statements issued by Indian diplomatic missions. The victims were part of a 28-member group touring the East African nation when their bus met with an accident on the Ol Jororok–Nakuru Road in Nyandarua County on Monday.

The Indian Embassy in Qatar confirmed the deaths in a post on social media platform X, stating, “As per available information, five Indian nationals have lost their lives in the accident. Officials from HCI Nairobi are on the ground and extending all help.”

The High Commission of India in Nairobi also expressed grief over the incident, calling it a “tragic road accident.” In a separate statement, the mission added, “Our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. We pray for the swift recovery of the injured. The consular team from the High Commission is on the ground and is in close contact with the local authorities to extend all necessary support.”

The High Commission also shared a helpline number (+254 734916532) for those seeking assistance or information.

The accident reportedly occurred as the group was travelling through a scenic but winding stretch of the Nyandarua region, a few hours outside the Kenyan capital. While the cause of the accident is still under investigation, Kenyan authorities are cooperating closely with Indian officials.

Back in Qatar, the Indian Embassy stated it was coordinating with key community groups such as the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) and Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), along with other local Indian associations. “We extend sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have unfortunately passed away,” the mission said, adding that it can be contacted for assistance on mobile number +974 55097295.
