The Emmy Awards will be honouring and awarding the best shows and performances on television of the last year. This is the 70th year of the awards. The award ceremony will take place on September 17 this year.
The world famous series ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Saturday Night Live’, and ‘Westworld’ are currently leading the nominations with ‘Game of Thrones’ leading with 22 nominations.
Sandra Oh is the first women of Asian descent and will be nominated as the best lead actress for one of the drama series, ‘Killing Eve’. She took to Twitter and shared her feelings about the nomination.

Another nomination is for Bill Hader, for his role of playing a killer in ‘Barry and ‘Patrick Melrose’. For Mark Duplass, his documentary ‘Wild Wild Country’ has received huge acceptance and has been nominated for the Emmy Awards.
For 17 years straight, there was no competition for HBO, however, this year, Netflix has overtaken HBO as the network to have maximum nominations.
