Nita Ambani loves to flaunt her saree collection, and to be honest, who doesn’t like the gorgeous sarees she drapes on special occasions?
When we talk about Donald Trump’s Presidential dinner, you bet it’s got to be a special saree. Nita Ambani wore an exquisite Jamawar saree designed by Indian designer Tarun Tahiliani.

Tahiliani shared intricate details of the making of the saree on his Instagram page. And the ace designer admits it took over 1,900 hours to create this masterpiece. The saree was paired with a tapered, collared blouse that blended traditional craftsmanship with modern tailoring. “The couture ensemble, crafted over 1,900 hours, seamlessly combines classic aari work with intricate French knots. Paired with a modern tapered collared blouse, it embodies Tarun Tahiliani’s signature blend of tradition and contemporary elegance,” he wrote.

He added, “To achieve its flawless drape and texture, craftsmen embroidered heritage jamewar shawls, which were then meticulously hand-painted, printed, and further embroidered. The result is a refined interplay of heritage artistry and modern tailoring.”
The designer further explained why Jamewar saree was selected. “Nita has always loved and celebrated fine Indian things and has a wonderful collection of jamewar and heritage textiles, and has been a longstanding patron of Tarun Tahiliani’s jamewar creations. For this occasion, it was only fitting she chose a modern interpretation of jamewar, adorned with the finest kashidakari—a tribute to India’s rich traditions presented through a contemporary lens. Representing India, she showcased a traditional technique reimagined in a modern form,” he said.
