Veteran Bollywood legend Dharmendra has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, sparking widespread concern after reports claimed he was on ventilator support and in a critical state. However, his family has firmly dismissed these rumours.
His son, actor Sunny Deol, assured fans that his father is recovering well and that the situation is not as serious as being portrayed. Later, Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s wife, also addressed the media after visiting him at the hospital on Monday evening. She stated, “We’re hoping for his speedy recovery,” adding that the ventilator reports were entirely false.
According to close sources quoted by The Indian Express, the actor has been under observation for about a week but is stable and not on ventilator support. “If something serious had happened, the entire family would have been at the hospital,” a source confirmed.
Dharmendra, who was earlier hospitalised on October 31 for a routine check-up, is being monitored closely by doctors.
On the professional front, the 88-year-old star was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024) and will next appear in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, set for release on December 25, 2025.
