A picture of deers sitting in the middle of the road is being shared online with a claim that it is from Ooty-Coimbatore Road and the deers came out after cars vanished from the road due to lockdown.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the claim to be false.

On putting the image through Reverse Image Search, we found that this picture is an old image from Japan.

We found the same image in an article by Sora News 24 dated July 25, 2014. “Nara’s deer continue their summertime tradition of commandeering one of the city’s streets, ” the title read.

Nara is a city in Japan and its deer lives inside Nara Park but can be stopped on streets in the summertime. The article also states that these deers are messengers of the god and hence they are not cased or penned.

The above information proves that the above picture is not from India.
