A Hyderabad techie was in shock after he was given a 470-day waiting period for a US visa interview slot while trying to book one for a friend which equates to almost 1.2 years! Yes, you read that right! Amit Bhawani was taken aback by the waiting time and even claimed that some people he knows managed to secure earlier slots through agents.
Frustrated and shocked, Bhawani took to X, saying, “Also, others I know went ahead with agents who were able to get them earlier slots. How is that possible?” He went on to say, “Everything can be rigged.”

In a recent update, Bhawani announced that he had successfully booked a US visa interview slot with a date scheduled for August. He pointed out that he didn’t resort to any “Chrome extensions, scripts, bots, or took help of an agent” to secure the appointment. His persistence paid off, and he humorously noted, “…I might need a new mouse after all that clicking.”

In the comments, Bhawani shared that he had begun his search around 11 pm and eventually found two available slots in Mumbai and Delhi.
When asked by an X user if he had any tips or “hacks” for securing a slot, Bhawani explained that he simply kept “refreshing” the page. He added that he didn’t search in Kolkata or Chennai, preferring to focus on Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai, and never gave up until he succeeded.
