The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds across several parts of North India for tomorrow, warning of potentially disruptive weather conditions. Thunderstorms accompanied by hailstorms are also likely over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Vidarbha.
Heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and strong winds has also been forecast for Assam, Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, and Sikkim. In addition, thundersquall conditions with gusty winds are expected over Chhattisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, East and West Rajasthan, and Gangetic West Bengal.
A severe weather warning has also been indicated for the Delhi-NCR region, with wind speeds potentially exceeding 70 kmph. Very intense thunderstorms are likely over Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, making conditions potentially hazardous.
Advisory: Residents are advised to remain indoors during thunderstorms, avoid unnecessary travel, secure loose objects, and stay away from trees, electric poles, and waterlogged areas. Farmers should protect crops and livestock, and commuters are urged to follow traffic updates and weather alerts closely.
Emergency services should be contacted in case of flooding, power hazards, or falling structures.
