New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR and forecast heavy rainfall across parts of North and South India. The national capital is expected to witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rain, with temperatures likely to remain around 33 degrees Celsius during the day and 24 degrees Celsius at night.
The weather office has predicted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh between August 4 and 6, with rain activity likely to continue in Delhi till August 10.
Heavy Rain Disrupts Normal Life In Kerala, Himachal Pradesh
Heavy rains continued to affect several parts of Kerala, leading to waterlogging, road inundation and evacuation of residents from low-lying areas. Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam remained among the worst-affected districts, with more people shifted to relief camps.
In Odisha, the IMD has forecast a wet spell from August 5 to 10, even as flood-hit districts including Jajpur, Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur continued to face waterlogging. Several villages remained cut off due to submerged roads.
Meanwhile, monsoon rains disrupted life in Himachal Pradesh, where 153 roads were blocked, 191 power transformers were affected and 58 water supply schemes were impacted.
Mandi recorded the highest number of blocked roads, followed by Sirmaur, Kullu and Shimla, with restoration work underway.
