India and the United States have stepped up engagement across key sectors as senior officials from both sides held a series of high-level meetings in Washington, focusing on trade, defence, energy, technology and global challenges.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor hosted Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri at Mar-a-Lago on Friday (local time), reaffirming Washington’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.

In a post on X, Gor said the two countries stand ready to work closely together across priority areas in the coming years.
Earlier, Misri held talks with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, where both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral ties, upcoming engagements and regional developments.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the discussions covered key areas including trade, technology, energy, defence and high-level exchanges planned for the year.
US Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg also highlighted the growing partnership, with a focus on cooperation in technology and energy innovation, as well as strengthening regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies.
During his three-day visit, Misri met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss geopolitical developments, including West Asia and the Indo-Pacific, along with defence and trade priorities.
He also held talks at the Pentagon with Under Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby, building on ongoing efforts to deepen the India-US strategic defence partnership.
