India’s successful cross-border counter-terror operation, codenamed Operation Sindoor, has drawn widespread praise, not just from political and strategic quarters, but also from icons of Indian cricket. Several former Indian cricketers, including Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan, hailed the Indian Armed Forces for their precision strike on terror infrastructure across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).
The operation was launched in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed multiple innocent lives. In a joint offensive involving the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, nine terror targets were destroyed, including four key sites in Pakistan — Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot — and five others in PoJK. The action marked India’s most extensive strike inside Pakistani territory since the 1971 war, targeting key Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba leaders.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to express solidarity and admiration. “Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India’s shield is her people. There’s no room for terrorism in this world. We’re One Team! Jai Hind,” he posted, summing up the nation’s collective pride.

Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh also expressed his gratitude to the armed forces. “Jai Hind. #OperationSindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam,” he stated, underlining the emotional and patriotic significance of the strike.

Shikhar Dhawan echoed similar sentiments in a powerful post accompanied by a video of the operation’s highlights. “Jo kaha tha, woh karke dikhaya. Justice is served. Bharat Mata Ki Jai!” he wrote, celebrating the fulfilment of India’s promise to deliver justice.
