Superstar Mahesh Babu will bring life to Mufasa in Disney’s upcoming release, Mufasa: The Lion King, by lending his strong voice in the Telugu version.
The film is slated to hit Indian theatres on 20 December.

This latest installment in the Lion King saga, directed by Barry Jenkins, explores the origins of Mufasa, the legendary lion whose story has been cherished for generations. Mahesh Babu expressed his excitement about the project.
“I have always admired Disney’s blockbuster legacy of entertainment and timeless storytelling,” Mahesh Babu shared. “The character of Mufasa appeals to me not only as a loving father guiding his son but as the supreme king of the jungle taking care of his clan. My family means everything to me, and this collaboration with Disney is personally very special as it is an experience I will cherish with my children! I am looking forward to when my family as well as my fans will be watching Mufasa: The Lion King in Telugu on the big screen on 20th December.”
The excitement doesn’t end there! The Telugu trailer is set to launch on 26 August, giving fans a sneak peek into the world of Mufasa: The Lion King. Alongside Mahesh Babu, the version will also feature celebrated comedian Brahmanandam as the voice of Pumbaa and the ever-talented Ali as Timon, promising an experience filled with grandeur and entertainment.
Disney’s Head of Studios, Bikram Duggal, echoed the sentiment, saying, “Our aim always is to bring a deeper, more personal touch to storytelling and engage with audiences all over the country and for them to enjoy the cinematic experience with their families in a language of their choice. The Hindi version of the film will see Shah Ruk.
