Mitchell Marsh Fit To Play As Batter For LSG In IPL 2025

Date:

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, is set to feature in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), but only as a specialist batter. Marsh, who has been recovering from a back injury, will join the LSG camp on March 18, as per reports.

The 33-year-old all-rounder missed the recently concluded Champions Trophy and Australia’s ODI tour of Sri Lanka due to “lower back pain and dysfunction.” Despite these setbacks, he is now ready to return to action in the IPL. LSG secured his services for ₹3.3 crore during the mega auction held last year in Jeddah.

Marsh has not played competitive cricket since January 7, when he last featured for the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League (BBL). He was rested for the final two matches of the tournament as a precautionary measure.

Before joining LSG, Marsh played for the Delhi Capitals for three seasons, but his IPL career has been plagued by injuries. In the 2024 edition, he played just four games before a hamstring injury forced him to return home for rehabilitation.

At LSG, Marsh will reunite with his former Australian head coach, Justin Langer, who is entering his second season with the franchise. With his experience and power-hitting ability, LSG will hope he can make a significant impact in the upcoming season despite his bowling limitations.
