In yet another monumental achievement, MS Dhoni added a historic feather to his already illustrious cap by becoming the first player to record 200 dismissals in the Indian Premier League. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon reached this landmark during their fixture against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Stadium on Monday.

The landmark moment came in the 14th over of LSG’s innings when Dhoni executed a textbook stumping to remove Ayush Badoni off Ravindra Jadeja’s bowling. Displaying his trademark lightning-quick reflexes, Dhoni neatly collected a quicker delivery and dislodged the bails in a flash. A brief check by the third umpire confirmed that Dhoni’s gloves were behind the stumps, making it his 46th IPL stumping.
Playing his 271st IPL match, the 43-year-old wicketkeeping maestro now has 201 dismissals to his name — comprising 155 catches and 46 stumpings. He didn’t stop at just the milestone, later grabbing a sharp catch to send back LSG skipper Rishabh Pant, who was the top scorer for the hosts with 63 runs off 49 balls.
Dhoni’s unmatched consistency and razor-sharp glove work continue to amaze fans and players alike, even after 18 seasons of IPL cricket. This record further cements his reputation as not just the tournament’s finest wicketkeeper, but also one of its most enduring legends.
