Mukesh Ambani Pitches ‘People-First’ AI Platform Built In India

Date:

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) chairman Mukesh Ambani on Sunday unveiled ambitious plans to launch a new artificial intelligence platform under the Jio brand, aimed at enabling Indians to access AI-driven services in their own languages.

Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference, Ambani said the platform will be powered by an upcoming AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The initiative, he noted, is designed to make artificial intelligence affordable, inclusive, and accessible to people across the country.

According to Ambani, the Jamnagar facility will be India’s largest AI-capable data centre and will serve as the backbone for Jio’s language-focused AI platform. The system is expected to allow users to interact with AI services on their personal devices in regional languages, improving everyday productivity and efficiency.

Outlining Reliance’s broader investment roadmap, Ambani announced that the conglomerate plans to invest up to Rs 7 trillion in Gujarat over the next five years—double the Rs 3.5 trillion it has invested in the state during the previous five-year period. He described Gujarat as a key partner in Reliance’s growth journey and a hub for future innovation.

Beyond technology and infrastructure, Ambani also revealed significant investments in healthcare and education. Reliance is setting up a world-class hospital in Jamnagar’s Saurashtra region and will substantially expand its educational institutions, aligning with the central government’s development goals.

Addressing global uncertainties, Ambani said that while geopolitical shifts and economic turbulence are creating challenges worldwide, India remains resilient and well-positioned to protect the interests of its people.

The RIL chairman further announced Reliance’s commitment to supporting India’s Olympic aspirations. He said the Reliance Foundation will collaborate with the Gujarat government to manage the Veer Savarkar Multisports Complex in Naranpura, Ahmedabad. The facility is expected to play a key role in training athletes and hosting major sporting events as India pursues its bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games.
