Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey set the internet abuzz on Monday with a cryptic social media post hinting at stepping away from acting. While fans and industry insiders speculated about his possible retirement, the actor issued a clarification on Tuesday, stating that he is not quitting but taking a temporary break to prioritize his mental and physical well-being.
Clarifying his stance on Tuesday, Vikrant issued a statement to dispel rumors. “Acting is all I can do. And it has given me everything I have. My physical and mental health have taken a hit. I just want to take some time off, want to better my craft. I feel a sense of monotony at the moment,” he said.
“My post has been misinterpreted. That I am quiting or retiring from acting. I want to take some time off to focus on my family and health. I would be back when the time feels right,” he added.
Vikrant’s earlier post had conveyed his gratitude to fans and colleagues for their support throughout his career, emphasizing the need to “recalibrate” his life. “as I move forward, I realize it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right,” the actor had shared.

Just hours after sharing his plans to take a hiatus, Vikrant was spotted at a special screening of his latest film, The Sabarmati Report. The event, held at the Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament, was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Members of Parliament from the National Democratic Alliance.
The film, which delves into the tragic burning of the S-6 coach of the Sabarmati Express in Gujarat on February 27, 2002, has been lauded for its bold narrative. Prime Minister Modi praised the movie for bringing important truths to light, further elevating its stature.
The Sabarmati Report features Vikrant Massey in the lead alongside Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna. Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan, the film is a joint venture between Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films Production.
