On Valentine’s Day Bajrang Dal, VHP protest in a unique way

It is that time of the year again when the members of the Bajrang Dal, the youth wing of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) are rebelling and protesting the celebration of Valentine’s Day.

The protests were seen mainly in Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar and Ahmedabad.

Earlier today, activists of Bajrang Dal performed a wedding of young lovers at a park in Hyderabad. The activists also burnt the effigies of Valentine’s Day.  The activists hit the roads early in the morning hunting lovers at various parks, theatres and hotels.

One group of activists caught hold of a teenage couple at Kandlakoya Oxygen Park and forced them to tie the knot. They also video-graphed the incident which is now becoming viral on Twitter.

The activists ransacked a proposed celebration organised at a private hotel in the area. The members shouted slogans opposing the western traditions. Later, the police rushed to the venue and took the troublemakers into custody.

Meanwhile, in Bhubaneswar, the right-wing activists were seen holding banners and placards in front of Jayadev Vatika, Ekamra Park, Forest Park and several lovers’ point in the city this morning.

In Ahmedabad, members of the Bajrang Dal allegedly harassed couples at the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad on Valentine’s Day on Wednesday, PTI reported.

Every year, the Bajrang Dal comes out in protest against those celebrating Valentine’s Day keeping watch at public parks and shopping malls.
