Looking for a quick getaway from Delhi? Head to Shimla during the famed summer festival that brings zeal, energy and excitement to the mountain town.

Shimla is historically a vibrant place. Tourists throng to this place during vacations. Every year, the Summer Festival takes place in the month of May near the city centre The Ridge.
This year the dates are 2nd June to 7th June.

The entire town comes alive with festive colours. With the beautiful background of mountains and hills, Shimla is perfect weather wise too during this period.

From singing to dances, local artist shows – there is something for everyone here.
One of the popular events is the fashion show in traditional Himachali garments that show case local designers and the beauty pageant.

There are also flower shows, dog shows, baby shows, talent competitions, recitals, games, and much more!
Enjoy the local flavours during the festival.
Some other attractions in Shimla are –
The Mall or Mall Road. It’s the main street of Shimla where there is a plethora of shops, cafes, restaurants.

The Lakkar Bazar, an area full of shops of traditional wooden crafts is also a good choice to visit.
Enjoy at the only natural ice-skating rink in South Asia near the Ridge.
Shimla is famous for its pre-independence colonial architecture, which gives it a mystical feel. Walk through the town to catch a glimpse of old monuments and buildings – each as unique as the other.
