New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has announced the appointment of Puneet Roy Kundal, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from the 1996 batch, as the next Ambassador of India to Portugal.
Kundal, who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry, is expected to assume his new role shortly. Kundal brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having held various significant roles throughout his distinguished career in the Indian Foreign Service.
His previous postings include serving in the Indian Embassies in Cairo, Muscat, Brussels, and Nepal. He has also been the Consul General of India in Cape Town and held the position of Minister (Commerce) at the Indian Embassy in Washington, D.C. Most recently, he served as the Ambassador of India to Tunisia before taking on his current role as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi.
