New Jersey: In a tragic incident in New Jersey’s Middlesex County, an Indian-origin woman lost her life, while another remains critically injured following a shooting. The suspect, identified as 19-year-old Gaurav Gill, also of Indian descent, has been apprehended by authorities.
The Indian consulate in New York expressed sorrow over the tragic incident in New Jersey’s Middlesex County. The Indian consulate expressed condolences for the loss of Jasvir Kaur and the critical injuries sustained by Gagandeep Kaur in the shooting incident.
The consulate also assured that they are actively engaged with RWJ Barnabas Health and the Carteret Police Department to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary assistance to the affected family during this difficult time.

The deceased victim hailed from Punjab. Police responded to reports of gunfire finding two women with severe gunshot wounds at the scene. Both victims were airlifted to a hospital, where 29-year-old Jasvir Kaur succumbed to her injuries, while her 20-year-old cousin remains in critical condition, According to a report by The Times of India.
Gaurav Gill was captured later the same day after a pursuit by law enforcement officers. Following hours on the run, he was apprehended in a backyard approximately half a mile from the shooting location. Gill, now faces serious charges, including first-degree murder, attempted murder, and multiple weapon-related offenses.
The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities have not disclosed whether Gill had any prior connection to the victims.
