Rajkummar Rao Opens Up About Financial Reality: ‘I’m Not as Rich as People Think’

Date:

Rajkummar Rao, who recently entered the 600 crore club with Stree 2’s massive success, has candidly spoken about his financial situation. Despite his blockbuster hit, the actor revealed that contrary to popular belief, he is far from a billionaire. In a recent appearance on Unfiltered with Samdish on YouTube, Rao discussed his real deal.

Rajkummar addressed the assumption that he has a massive fortune. He said, “Honestly, I don’t have as much money as people think. Some might assume I have INR 100 crore, but that’s not true. I’m still paying a hefty EMI for the house I bought. It’s not like I can walk into a showroom and casually purchase a car worth INR 6 crore.”

When asked if he could afford a car worth INR 50 lakh, Rao humorously responded, “₹50 lakh ki, de de, but we’ll have to discuss it. Maybe I could, but there would be a conversation about whether it’s necessary.” He admitted that while he would feel some stress over such a purchase, buying a car worth INR 20 lakh is something he could comfortably manage.

In the same interview, Rao touched on the impact of sudden wealth on actors, stating, “It doesn’t feel right when actors get too much money overnight. It messes with their heads.”

Professionally, following the success of Stree 2, which grossed ₹855.86 crore worldwide, Rajkummar’s latest release is Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, a quirky sex comedy directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. The film revolves around a newlywed couple’s stolen honeymoon tape, with Rao starring opposite Qala actress Triptii Dimri, alongside Vijay Raaz and Mallika Sherawat. Rao is also set to debut as a full-fledged action hero in Malik, an action thriller directed by Pulkit. The film will mark a new chapter in Rajkummar’s career, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
