New Delhi: Tollywood actor Ram Charan has successfully undergone surgery for a right wrist injury that worsened during the shooting of his upcoming film Peddi.
The procedure was performed at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore under the supervision of orthopaedic surgeon Dr S Rajasekaran, with Dr Alejandro Badia from Miami, USA, joining the surgical team due to the complexity of the injury.
Ram Charan travelled from Hyderabad with his parents, Chiranjeevi and Surekha, and his wife, Upasana, who has been by his side throughout the treatment. The actor is recovering well, and doctors have expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the surgery. He will now undergo rehabilitation before returning to the film’s shoot.
On Monday morning, Upasana shared pictures of herself offering prayers to Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman for Ram Charan’s well-being while he underwent surgery. An update regarding his hospital discharge is still awaited.
Earlier, Ram Charan had revealed that he suffered a cartilage tear while filming wrestling sequences for Peddi and said, “Cheyya bane undi (My hand is better now). This is a small gift that Buchi has given me.”
