Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant added another feather to his cap on Sunday, becoming only the third Indian to complete 150 catches in Test cricket as a designated wicketkeeper. The milestone came on Day 3 of the first Test against England at Headingley, when pacer Prasidh Krishna induced an edge from Ollie Pope that safely landed in Pant’s gloves.

With that catch, the 27-year-old joined an elite club of Indian wicketkeepers, trailing only behind legends Syed Kirmani and MS Dhoni. Kirmani had 160 catches in his career, while Dhoni leads the list with 256.
Pant now stands at 151 catches and 15 stumpings, totaling 166 dismissals in Test cricket. This makes him the third most successful wicketkeeper for India in terms of total dismissals — again behind Dhoni (294) and Kirmani.
Since his debut, Pant has been a game-changer behind the stumps and with the bat, often pulling India out of tricky situations in overseas conditions. His latest milestone further cements his growing stature as a vital cog in India’s Test setup.
