The company announced that it will soon add a ‘Zootopia’-themed land to the sprawling Chinese theme park, wrote The Hollywood Reporter.
Launched in 2016 after nearly two decades of development and negotiation with the Chinese government, Shanghai Disneyland began with six themed lands and opened a seventh Toy Story Land last year.

Speaking about it, Bob Chapek, Disney’s chairman of parks, experiences and consumer products, said, The rapid rate of expansion at Shanghai Disney Resort demonstrates our confidence and commitment to the companys future development in China.
The new theme-park is meant to capitalise on the success of the Walt Disney Animation Studios film, which, upon its release in 2016, became a worldwide hit, doing particularly well in China.

“With a brand-new attraction, entertainment, merchandise, and food and beverage offerings, the new land will provide guests with even more to experience and enjoy at Shanghai Disneyland than ever before, Disney said in a statement.
The new themed land will invite guests to fully immerse themselves in the mammalian metropolis of ‘Zootopia’, ‘where anyone can be anything, the statement further added.
