The highly anticipated sequel “Stree 2,” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has made a remarkable debut at the box office. Released on Independence Day, the film has quickly become a major hit, with its total collection in India reaching ₹145.80 crore.
The sequel, which swiftly crossed the ₹100 crore milestone within just two days of its release, has solidified its position as a box office leader. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Stree 2 is dominating the box office, becoming the “undisputed leader” in the Hindi film industry.
Adarsh highlighted the film’s wide appeal across various viewing platforms, stating, “Day 3 [Saturday] saw another significant surge in numbers, with metros and non-metros, multiplexes and single screens, urban centers and mass belt, all joining the party. Indeed, Stree 2 is rewriting the rules of the game.”
The film kicked off with ₹9.40 crore from Wednesday previews, followed by a robust ₹55.40 crore on its opening day, Thursday. Despite a slight dip on Friday, where it earned ₹35.30 crore, Stree 2 rebounded strongly on Saturday with ₹45.70 crore.
The film’s global box office collection has also reached an impressive ₹172 crore, as reported by Maddock Films. Rajkummar Rao, in a celebratory Instagram post, expressed his gratitude to fans, saying, “Aap sabko bahut sara pyaar. Bicky is saying Pleeejjjj itna pyaar hi dete rahna.”
‘Stree 2’ directed by Amar Kaushik. Aactor Varun Dhawan has a special cameo in the film. So, as per the audience’s reviews so far, ‘Stree 2’ is considered “full paisa vasool”. ‘Stree’ was released in 2018 and was declared a hit.
